so here i am, after this hellish week.
i can't say i'm happy it's over:
1) it will start all over again next week-assignments due and what not
2) i still feel restless. somehow, the assignments keep my mind busy.
it's about 4 more weeks till week 12. and that means, the finals are looming. on one hand i can't wait for the exam timetable to be released. that way i can book my flight home and either be overjoyed that my exams finish before my birthday, or be sad that i have to study through my birthday. either way, at least the anticipation will be over. on the other hand, when it comes out, it means the serious studying and panic stricken dreams begin.
wow. this semester seems to have flown by. time really flies when you're constantly busy. your attention flitting from assignment to lectures to tutorials to recreational activities, to god knows what. seriously, it really doesn't feel like i've had uni for the past 2 months.
which leads to the other issue. if time seems to be speeding up, it means that the day i graduate is coming faster than ever. bad thing. i don't feel that i'm ready to face the world, to be pushed into the working life. oh wow. deep thoughts for a thursday night.
moving on. the concept of time. i know time is universal, 1 hour is 60 minutes, 1 minute is 60 seconds. but the flow of time seems to differ from person to person, situation to situation. i mean, think about it.
you could be at work at this very moment, moaning about how each second feels like a minute. whilst i could be rushing an assignment, panicking about how each minute feels like a second. it's all in the mind (insert sarcastic comment). you never seem to appreciate the good times because they fly by so bloody fast, and you cringe and moan about how this 'pain' never goes away.. how it bugs you every waking second, and taunts you in your dreams.
it's all about time. you have to let in run its course.
time heals all wounds. yes, there will be scars. but at least a piece of your meat hasn't been gauged out. the pain will dull as time passes, because memories fade. and the brain has a knack of painting a rosy picture about everything, blurring the rough edges. a curse or a gift from god? i don't know. all i know is, time heals.
as scars heal, the skin gets tougher, you don't get hurt so easily. girls, think about the blisters you get when you start wearing a new shoe. it ruptures, then heals and the skin gets thicker. you wear other shoes, and guess what! that little bit of thick skin saves you from getting blisters and cuts again with another new pair. so hell yeah, scars remind us of the pain we've gone through, and hopefully, we learn from it.
okay i seem to be overthinking tonight. i shall save my other thoughts for another cloudy night. :)
psst! in honour of 420, queen victoria used to get her physician to prescribe marijuana for her period cramps. even royalty get high. hey, i'm not judging.
you shouldn't too, asshole.
